Carrboro Board liaison serving on the Orange County Solid Waste Advisory Group.
Proponent of municipal, community and neighborhood composting to divert compostable food waste from the waste stream.
In June 2013, crafted recommendations for Board resolution to continue our recycling program without interruption.
Collaborated with Chapel Hill Councilwoman Sally Green in a study of municipal recycling. Prepared recycling program recommendations for mayors of both Carrboro and Chapel Hill, June 2013.
Initiated and coordinated the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools recycling, cafeteria food waste, composting demonstration site and school garden programs district-wide (1987-96).
